Family Session

I am loving on this weather!  It's still a bit too chilly for me, but since I'm in Iowa, I'll just be happy that there's no ice on the roads right now.  The other day I went to Iowa Falls to meet with this family for some portraits and had a lovely time with them.  The girls weren't too interested in what I was doing, it was just too nice out to be posing for pictures.  I don't blame them, I've been trying to get outside to play as much as I can, too!  The girls were so adorable, and I had fun chasing them around and trying to keep them entertained!

 

 

   

 

Rich and Molly - Engaged!

Yesterday Jeremy and I spent the afternoon with this fun couple!  We met in the downtown Ames area to get some cool urban shots and then headed over to McFarland Park to find whatever traces of fall that was left.  We must have looked like such a nice bunch because there were a few people downtown that tried to befriend us. . . and now we know that even in small town Ames you need to be on guard at all times!  Regardless, it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our time with the couple!  Rich and Molly, you guys did a great job putting up with me, and thanks for allowing us to try some new stuff out!  Jeremy and I are excited to be a part of your big day!

 

 

 

Aleighia - 9 months old

I photographed this little beauty the other day, and I have to say I love capturing the little ones at this age.  They still aren't quite big enough to run away from me, but big enough to give me smiles and be quite entertaining to say the least.  Aleighia was no exception, and she was a wonderful model for me!  It has been a treat to watch and capture her as she grows in her first year, I can't believe she's almost one already!  Just a few of my favorites:

 

 

Jay and Courtney - Engaged!

We spent yesterday with this fun couple, capturing them at the Ledges State Park in Boone.  We also had to include the John Deere tractor in a couple of shots, which I think turned out to be some of my favorites!  Jay and Courtney will be married next spring, and we're looking forward to being a part of the wedding bliss!

My special friend, Karleigh, spent many, many days and nights at this particular hospital, and I know she and her family were cared for very well by the doctors, nurses, and staff there.  Please go vote in honor of Karleigh, and all the children who have had to spend a large part of their lives in this hospital!

Brother and Sister

Kayla and Tyler are friends of ours, but Tyler still brought his "game face" for the day. . .  He refused to smile unless on command, and it was so cute how he could smile in an instant and be frowning at me in the next!  He also decided that he didn't want to be too near his sister in many of the shots, but just a couple times I was able to get him off guard, or Kayla was able to bribe him!  We went to the Ledges State Park for the session, and I realized that I've been shooting there more than anywhere else this summer.  But I do love the place!

Justin and Lisa - Engaged!

This weekend Jeremy and I got to spend a little time with Justin and Lisa so we could do their engagement session.  We got lucky that we had such nice weather for the most part, or at least it didn't rain on us!  Justin and Lisa are both Iowa State alums, so we met them on campus and took advantage of the beautiful architecture.   We really enjoyed our time with these 2, and we're both excited for their upcoming wedding day!  They are such a sweet couple, and Lisa is going to be such an elegant bride!

Kyle and Emily - Married!

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day to be married, and we were so blessed in being a part of Kyle and Emily's day!  Their ceremony was held outside at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, and we had perfect weather for the event.  We started out with the guys at a local park, and then headed over to get some shots of Emily finishing up the final touches.

Then it was off to the golf course!  The ceremony was officiated by Emily's uncle, and he did a wonderful job!  I'm pretty sure almost every person had a tear in their eye, including the photographer!  When the ceremony was over, Kyle and Emily got away on a golf cart, and we followed them over to a small pond to get some shots of just them, just minutes after becoming husband and wife.  They were so happy, we could just feel the joy radiating from them!

We wish Kyle and Emily many years of falling in love over and over again!  Jeremy and I are so thankful that we were able to be witnesses to such a beautiful commitment!

It is also this weekend that we will be photographing this great couple for their wedding.  It's really a blessing to be able to spend such an important day with a couple who is truly meant to be together forever!  We've been so fortunate with almost every couple we've photographed so far, sometimes they make my job just too easy!
